MISSOURI
CONCEALED CARRY

No permit is required for concealed carry in Missouri.

OPEN CARRY

No permit is required for the open carry of a firearm in Missouri.
However, it is up to local authorities whether or not a permit is required to open carry in their jurisdiction.

MOTOR VEHICLE CARRY

No permit is required for transporting a gun in your car or vehicle.
The firearm can also be concealed on your person.

NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT (NFA) FIREARMS

NFA items are legal in Missouri so long as they are registered properly pursuant to the National Firearms Act.

HUNTING

Missouri has varying laws regarding firearms and hunting, consult your local authorities.

FIREARM TRANSFERS & SALES

To buy a firearm in Missouri, you must be 18 years of age.
No permit or license is required to buy a firearm.
No registration is required.
There is no waiting period.
No background check for firearms purchased between private parties.
The number of guns purchased at one time is unlimited.

AMMUNITION REGULATIONS

The minimum age to possess or purchase ammunition is 18.
No license required to buy or sell ammo.
Keeping records of ammunition sales is not required.
Detonating or exploding ammo is prohibited.
